The difference of the square of zeroes is 30

Given : The sum and differences of zeroes of quadratic polynomial are - 3 and - 10 respectively

To find : The difference of the square of zeroes

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Form the equations

Let the zeroes are α and β

Since it is given that sum and differences of zeroes of quadratic polynomial are - 3 and - 10 respectively

So by the given condition

α + β = - 3

α - β = - 10

Step 2 of 2 :

Find difference of the square of zeroes

Hence the difference of the square of zeroes

= α² - β²

= ( α + β ) ( α - β )

= ( - 3 ) × ( - 10 )

= 30
