IF THE SUM OF 2 CONSECUTIVE IS 15 AND GREATER OF THEM IS X THEN THE SMALLER NUMBER IS ?

Let the greater number be x

smaller number be x-1

x+x-1=15

2x-1=15

2x=16

x=8. smaller number= 8-1=7.

sum of two consecutive number =15

greater number =X

smaller number =X-1

X+X-1=15

2x-1=15

2x=15+1

2x=16

X=16/2

X=8
