If the sum of first term are 49 and that of 17th term is 289 find the sum of end terms

Answer:

considering given data is in arithmetic progreasion

first term a = 49

17th term = a + 16d

289 = 49 + 16d

common difference d = 240÷16

d = 15

sum of n terms = a + (n-1)d

Sn = 49 + (n-1)15

Sn = 34 - 15n
