Let a be the first term and d be the common difference of the AP

So as per the problem statement,

first x term

Tx=a+(x-1)d=y...............................1 and

Ty=a+(y-1)d=x...............................2

solving 1 and 2 , we get

d=-1 and a=x+y-1

T(x+y)=a+(x+y -1)d= x+y-1 +(x+y-1)(-1)=x+y-1 -x-y +1=0
