SOLUTION ☺️

Given, x^2+y^2= 40

(x &y are zeroes of quadratic equation)

=) (x+y)^2-2xy= 40.............(1)

Now,

Sum of zeroes= x+y= -B/A

=) -(-8)/1= 8

Product of zeroes= xy= C/A

=) k

Put the value in Equation (1)

=) (8)^2-2k= 40

=) 64-40=2k

=)2k= 24

=) k= 24/2

=) k= 12

HOPE it helps ✔️
