If the sum of the ages of a father and his son in
years is 65 and twice the difference of their ages in
vears is 50, then the age of the father is

& the age of his son = y

x + y = 65 --------(1)

2(x - y) = 50

x - y = 25 --------(2)

from equation (1) + (2)

2x = 90

x = 45

then y = 20
