if the sum of the first 7 term of an ap is 4g and that of 17 terms is 289 find the sum of the first n terms​

Then from equaiton (1):

a = 7 - 3d = 7 - 6 = 1

na + [n(n-1)/2]d

= n + n(n-1)

= n + n² - n

= n²
