If the sum of the first n terms of an AP is 1/2(3n2 + 7n) then find its nth term. Hence find its 20th term

We know

S1=a1=5

S2=a1+a2=13

S2-s1=a1+a2-a1

d=8-5=3

nth term of AP =an=5+(n-1)3

an= 2+3n

Therefore 20th term =

a20= 2+3(20)=62

Hence 20th term of AP is 62
