If the sum of the numerator and denominator of a fraction is 3 more than twice the numerator.If 4 is added to numerator and denominator respectively,the ratio obtained is 3:4.Find the FRACTION.

Let the numerator be x and denomenator be y

By data,

x + y = 3 + 2x

y = 3 + x ..... (i)

(x+4) / (y+4) = 3/4

4x + 16 = 3y + 12

3y - 4x = 4

9 + 3x - 4x = 4  (from i)

9 - x = 4

x = 5

y = 5 + 3 = 8

Therefore, the fraction is 5/8
