if the sum of the product of the zero of the polynomial ax2+5x+c is equal to 10 each find the value of a and b

The given polynomial is (ax² + 5x + c)

Let, α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial.

Then,

α + β = -5/a ...(i)
αβ = c/a ...(ii)

Given that,

α + β = 5

⇒ - 5/a = 5

⇒ a = - 1

and

αβ = 5

⇒ c/a = 5

⇒ c/(- 1) = 5 [∵ a = - 1]

⇒ c = - 5

∴ The value of a is (- 1) and the value of c is (- 5).
