We have p(x) = 5x^2 + 3x + k

Let, α and β are zeroes of p(x).

Now, α+β = coefficient of x/coefficient of x^2

⇒ α+β=-3/5

α*β = coefficient term/coefficient x^2

⇒ α*β = k/5

Now, α^2+β^2 = (α+β)^2 - 2α*β

⇒ 11/25 = (-3/5)^2 - 2k/5

11/25 = 9/25 - 2k/5

2k/5 = 9/25 - 11/25

2k/5 = -2/25

k = -1/5

Hope it helps you..
