according to the question,

(x+y)=15*2+10       -----------1                  [division algorithm]

(x-y)=3*4+2          ------------2                 [     "                ]

so

lets subtract equation 1 from 2 we get,

x-y-(x+y)={12+2} - {30+10}

-2y = 14 - 40

-2y  = -26

2y  = 26

y = 13

so substituting the value of y in equation 2 we get,

x-2= 12+2

x=14+2

x= 16
