Let the numbers be x, x+1 and x+2.
According to question,
(x)+(x+1)+(x+2)= 51
3x+3=51
Transposing 3 to RHS
3x=48
Dividing both sides by 3
x=16Therefore,greatest number is (x+2)=18

Let the first consecutive number=x
Let the second consecutive number=x+1
Let the third consecutive number =x+2
A.T.Q
x+x+1+x+2=51
3x+3=51
3x=51-3
3x=48
x=48/3
x=16
First consecutive number=16
Second consecutive number=16+1=17
Third consecutive number=16+2=18

So,the largest consecutive number=18
