odd numbers are always 2 places apart. For instance 3,5 &7 are all 2 off from eacoher. We can therefore express 3 odd consecutive numbers as X, X+2, X+4, where X is the smallest and X+4 is the largest. We know then, that we are looking for X+4.

the sum of these three numbers is (X)+(X+2)+(X+4) is 81, thus 3x+6=81, 3x=75, and x=25. The three numbers are thus 25, 27, and 29.
