Given :

  • Sum of three consecutive number is 27

To find :

  • Second number

Solution :

★ Let the consecutive numbers be x, (x + 1) and (x + 2)

*According to the given condition*

→ x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 27

→ x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 27

→ 3x + 3 = 27

→ 3(x + 1) = 27

→ x + 1 = 27/3

→ x + 1 = 9

→ x = 9 - 1 = 8

Hence,

  • First number = x = 8
  • Second number = (x + 1) = 9
  • Third number = (x + 2) = 10
