Question:-

If the sum of two members a and b is 10 and the sum of their squares is 52,find the product of the numbers.

Given:-

sum of two members a and b is 10.

the sum of their squares is 52.

To Find:-

Product of the numbers.

Explanation:-

given, a+b = 10

a^2 + b^2 = 52

a + b = 10. .........(1)

Squares on both sides.

(a+b)^2 = 10^2

a^2 + b^2 + 2ab = 100

52 + 2ab = 100

2ab = 100- 52

ab = 48/2

ab = 24

then,

the numbers are 6 and 4.

Product of numbers = 6 × 4

= 24

hope this helps you
