let the great no. be 'x',  and less no. be 'x-2''

so,
x(x-2)=15             (told that the product is 15)
x2- 2x-15=0            ('x2'... is 'x' sqaure)
x2-5x+3x-15=0
x(x-5)+3(x+5)

therfore, x=5 (taking the positive ans.)
ans x-2= 3

so the two no. are 3 and 5

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let one number be X

Another be 8-x

Their product is 15 (given)

X(8-x)=15

8x-x^2=15

-x^2+8x-15

x^2-8x+15=0

X^2-3x-5x+15

X(x-3) -5(x-3)

(x-5) (x-3)

So,the numbers are 3 and 5
