so x = 10 - y ( 1 )

and

xy = 25

by putting the value as in eq..( 1 )

(10-y) y = 25

10y - y² =25

y²-10y +25 =0

by using factorisation method

y² -5y -5y + 25 =0

y (y -5) -5(y-5) =0

(y-5) (y-5) = 0

so y = 5

means both no. are 5
