a + b= 14

a - b =10 ---------------- eq. 2

(14-b) - b = 10

14-2b = 10

2b = 14 - 10

2b = 4

b = 2

a - b = 10

a - 2 = 10

a= 10 + 2

a = 12

ab= 12 X 2

ab= 24
