first number is =x

second number is = x+7

x+(x+7)=16

2x+7=16

2x=9

x=9/2
first number =9/2
second number = 9/2+7
=(9+14)/2
=23/2

siwangi76: no it is wrong answer

suppose number =\boxed{first\:number\:x}
and
\boxed{second\:number\:y}

as 1st condition ________

x+y =16------------1

2nd condition _______

y = x +7

or y-x= 7----------2

from equation 1 +2

2y = 23

\boxed{\bf{y=\frac{23}{2}}}

and 16

x=23/2 -7

\boxed{\bf{x=\frac{9}{2}}}
