Their product is -3/2
Let,the two numbers = a and b ( Here a,b are assumed as variables to calculate the multiplication product of the two numbers,as per the conditions mentioned in the question)
• So, addition value of the two numbers is
a+b = 3
• And, the addition value of the square of the two numbers is
a²+b² = 12
Now,
(a+b)²= (3)²
a²+2ab+b² = 9 [ Because, the value of (a+b)² is a²+2ab+b²]
a²+b²+2ab = 9
12+2ab = 9
2ab = 9-12
2ab = -3
ab = -3/2
So,the value of their multiplication product of the two numbers = a×b = ab = -3/2 (answer)
