heya dear...

let two numbers be x and y.

now, their sum = x + y = 14 ........(1)

and,their difference = x - y = 10..........(2).

adding equation 1 and 2, we get

2x = 24.

=> x = 12.

thus,other number ,y = 2.

now, their product = xy = 12 × 2 = 24 Ans.

solution :-

given in question :-

sum of two numbers is 14 .and two numbers is unknown.

and also mentioned

their difference is 10.

then ,

let a number x and second number y.

in question given.

sum of both number is 14

so,

x + y = 14 ( equation 1 )

difference of number is 10

x - y = 10 (equation 2)

adding eq 1 and 2 then we find

x + y = 14
+
x - y = 10
___________
2 x = 24
----------------------

x = \frac{24}{2} = 12 \\ \\ x =1 2
second number y = ?

x + y = 14

12 + y = 14

y = 14 -12

y = 2.

actually we find two numbers x = 12 and y = 2

product of two numbers x × y = ?

product of two numbers 12 ×2 = 24.
