Given,

Sum of two numbers  =  Thrice the difference of the same numbers

To Find,

The ratio of two numbers=?

Solution,

Let one number be x and the other number be y

According to the question,

x + y = 3(x - y)

x + y = 3x  - 3y

y + 3y = 3x - x

4y = 2x

Dividing both sides by 2 , we get

2y = x

y/x = 1/2

Therefore, ratio between two numbers is 1:2
