let's take the first number = x

y,second number =50-x

Difference of their squares = x²- (50-x)²=720

= x²-(2500+x²-100x) = 720

=100x-2500 = 720⇒100x = 720+2500

therefore,100x=3220

x=3220/100 = 3.2

first number,x = 3.2 and second number,50-x = (50-3.2) = 17.8
