We know that Hypotenuse is the longest side of any right angled triangle. Here sum if two smaller sides is 23, hence the hypotenuse is 40 - 23 = 17. Applying the Pythagorean triplet formula, we get the sides to be 8, 15 and 17 cms.



Using Herons Formula -

WHOLE ROOT s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

where s is half of perimeter and a,b and c are sides.

Hence, the area is = 3600cms
