By the question

x + y = -1                                ----------------(i)

x × y = 7                                ----------------(ii)

In equation (i)

x + y = -1

x = -y - 1

Substituting x in equation (ii)

( - y - 1)(y) = 7

-y² - y = 7

y² + y + 7 = 0

Hence the quadratic polynomial is y² + y + 7 = 0
