Answer:

here u go ....

explanation :

Let the angles be A and B.

Suplimentary angles are the angles whose

sum =180° .

Let angle A=x

So, according to question:

Angle B=3x-40

(40 less than 3 times angle)

Since angles are suplementry sum of both angles should be 180°.

Which means

x+3x-40=180°

Or

4x-40=180°

Or

4x=180+40 (shifting 40 to right hand side)

4x=220°.

x=220/4

Which gives

x=55°

Angle A=x

Which means one angle is 55°

Angle B=3x-40

Putting x=55°

We get angle B=125°

You can check the answer as 55+125 gives 180° Therefore the first condition is fulfilled.

Also 3 times 55° minus 40° is 125° which satisfies the second condition.

hope this answer helps u:)
