Given : theoretical probability of rolling a “4” on a die is 1/6,

To find : predict how many times the outcome will be “4” if you roll the die 42 times

Solution:

the theoretical probability of rolling a “4” on a die is 1/6

if Dice is rolled 42 times

Then Expected number of times 4 is rolled  = (1/6) 42

= 7 times

Number of times rolled Does not always agree with theoretical probability

as it is the best estimate  only  , not actual

Estimation will be closer  as number of trials will increase
