Yes you can draw a triangle when three sides are given.

You can draw the base with one side, then use rounder to cut arcs of the length of the sides from the two points of the base and join them, giving you your triangle.

The statement is true that it is possible to draw a triangle if three sides are given.

When three sides of a triangle are given,

  • Draw one side.
  • Draw two circles with each other sides as radii with center at either points of the side drawn.
  • Mark the point of intersection of the circles. This will be the third vertex of the triangle.

Thus the triangle can be drawn.

E.g.: Draw a triangle ABC of AB = 3 cm, BC = 4 cm and AC = 5 cm.

Solution:

  • First draw any one of the sides given. Here I'm drawing AC = 5cm. Choosing the largest side will be better.
  • Draw a circle of radius AB = 3 cm, with center A.
  • Draw another circle of radius BC = 4 cm, with center C.
  • Mark the point of intersection of the circles as B.
  • Join AB and BC.

Thus the triangle ABC can be drawn.

The circles meet each other at two points. We can take one among these two ones as the third vertex of the triangle.

Hope this helps you. Plz ask me if you have any doubt.

Thank you. :-))
