We know,

Area of △ = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]

s = ½(a + b + c) = ½(5 + 3 + 4 cm) = 6 cm

 ∴ Area = √[6(6 - 5)(6 - 3)(6 - 4)] cm²

  \leadsto √[6 × 3 × 2] cm²

  \leadsto √(6)² cm²

  \leadsto 6 cm²

Similar formula:-

Formula of Brahmagupta:-

√[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)(s - b)]

Can be applied in case of finding the area of cyclic quadrilaterals.
