Question :- If the time taken to cover a distance of 60km is 45 minutes. How long will it take to cover the same distance if the speed is reduced by 20km/hr. ?

Solution :-

Distance = 60km

→ Time = 45 minutes = (45/60) Hours = (3/4) Hours.

→ Speed = Distance / Time = 60/(3/4) = 60*(4/3) = 80km/h .

Now,

New Speed = reduced by 20km/hr.

→ New speed = 80 - 20 = 60km/h.

→ Distance = 60km.

→ New Time = Distance / New speed = 60/60 = 1 Hour. (Ans.)

Hence, the same will be cover in 1 Hour if speed is reduced by 20km/h.
