If the tip of a needle or the edge of a knife becomes blunt, then the needle does not penetrate the cloth and the knife does not cut into the fruit. Why is this so?

You can understand this by the formula of Pressure
Pressure = Force / area
so blunt knife means more area...so less force
Hope you understand

Dear Student,
◆ Answer with explaination -
- As we know, pressure acting at a point is given by formula, P = F/A.
- When tip of needle or edge of knife is blunted, area at the cutting surface is increased.
- As pressure is inversely proportional to area, pressure will be decreased.
- Here enough pressure will not be created so as to cut fruit or penetrate clothes.
Thanks dear...
