The PRESENCE OF INTERCALARY MERISTEMS makes it growing in length even if the tip of sugarcane plant is removed from field.

Explanation:

  • When tip of sugarcane is removed, along with “apical meristem is also removed”.
  • When apical meristems are removed it may lead to shunt in the growth of the region.
  • In case of sugarcane the presence of intercalary meristems supports in growth of the tip regions by facilitating the growth of leaves and stem in which it is located.
