Tip speed ratio:

This equals : = Speed of the blade at its tip / The actual wind speed

Speed of wind at the tip  = s

Speed of wind = 12 km/h

Tip speed ratio = 1.5

Speed of the tip = Tip speed ratio × speed of the wind

Speed of the tip = 1.5 × 12 = 18

= 18 km/h

Tip Speed Ratio is the speed of the blade at its tip divided by the speed of the wind.

The correct answer for  If the tip speed ratio is 1.5, and the wind speed is 12 km/hr, the speed of the tip of the windmill is 1.5 = x/12 = 18.
