If the total deposits created by commercial banks are rupees 10,000 crore and
legal reserve ratio is 10% then calculate the amount of initial deposits with the banks.​

Answer:

Initial deposit=Total deposit×LRR

Initial deposit=Rs.10,000×0.4

Initial deposit=Rs.4000 crores

Answer: Given , legal reserve requirements(LRR) is 10% or 0.1 and money multiplier =1/LRR

Money multiplier =1/0.1 =10

if total deposits created is of rupees 10,000 crore ,

intial deposits = total deposits/money multiplier

=10,000/10

intial deposits= rupees 1,000 crore
