Yes it's very simple and good question....

We have an equilateral triangle ABC in which AB = BC = CA = 3cm...........(1)

We have to prove that Why AB + BC > CA

It is a theorem in Triangles which states that sum of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than third side otherwise a Triangle will not be possible.....

For Example:----

Do the steps mentioned in question and you would automatically get your answer as (AB + BC) > CA

( 3 + 3) > 3 [ From (1)]

So, 6 > 3

Hence,6 is always greater than 3 so the condition of question is satisfied....

Heya Mate

Here's your answer

Let AB + BC < CA

AB=AC=BC

So,AB+BC=2AB

And ,AB+BC>CA

than proved

This contradicts our assumption that

AB+BC<CA

Hence proved AB+BC>CA

Hope it will help you
