Since the roots are equal,
Discriminent = 0
=> b^2 - 4*a*c = 0
=> (-4k)^2 - 4(1)(8) = 0
=> 16k^2 - 32 = 0
=> k^2 - 2= 0
=> k^2 = 2
k = + root2 and - root2
Discriminent = 0
=> b^2 - 4*a*c = 0
=> (-4k)^2 - 4(1)(8) = 0
=> 16k^2 - 32 = 0
=> k^2 - 2= 0
=> k^2 = 2
k = + root2 and - root2
