Answer:

c = √6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given--->

a = (√3 )+1 cm , b = 2cm and ∠C = 60°

To find---> c = ?

Solution---> We know that by Cos rule is

CosC = (a² + b² - c²) / 2 ab

Cos60° = (1+√3)² + (2)² - c² / 2(1+√3) (2)

We have an identity as follows

( a + b )² = a² + b² + 2 ab

Applying it here we get

1/2 =(1)² + (√3)² + 2(1)(√3)+4-c²/4(1+√3)

4(1+√3)/2 = 1 + 3 + 2√3 + 4 - c²

2 (1 + √3 ) = 8 + 2 √3 - c²

2 + 2 √3 = 8 + 2 √3 - c²

2√3 cancel out from both sides

c² = 8 - 2

c² = 6

c = ±√6

But c is side of triangle so it can not be negative so

c = √6
