● Explaination -
- Value of CFSE increases by 50% as we go from 3d to 4d period in same group.
- Nickel is positioned as 10th element in 3d series while Palladium is 10th element in 4d series.
- Therefore, CFSE for Pd will be 50% more than that for Ni.
CFSE(Pd) = (100+50)/100 × ∆° = 1.5 ∆°
