a,b,c are in AP so a+c=2b

P(x)=ax^2+bx +c=0

x^2+(b/a)x+c/a=0

Sum of the roots = -b/a

Product is =c/a

Adding we get c/a-(a+c)/2a=(2c-a-c)/2a=c/2a-1/2
