Given:

Velocity of a car is 45km/hr in the west direction.

To Find:

Distance covered in 0.5hr.

Concept Used:

We will use the formula of

{\underline{\underline{\boxed{\red{\sf{\leadsto Displacement=Velocity\times time}}}}}}

Note:

This formula is only valid for non - accelerated motion.

Solution:

Using the above formula ,

we have

  • Velocity =45km/hr west (v).
  • Time =0.5hr (t).
  • Displacement = ? (s)

\sf{\leadsto s= vt}

\sf{\leadsto s= 45km/hr \times 0.5hr}

\sf{\leadsto s=45km/hr\times\dfrac{1}{2}hr}

\sf{\leadsto s=\dfrac{45}{2}km}

\sf{\leadsto s=\dfrac{\cancel{45}\:\:^{22.5}}{\cancel{2}}km}

{\underline{\boxed{\purple{\bf{\longmapsto s=22.5km}}}}}

Therefore the car will go 22.5km in 0.5hr.
