Given,

  • Volume of a cylinder = 1540 cm³
  • Height of the cylinder = 10 cm

To find,

  • Area of the base of a cylinder

Solution,

We can simply find the area of the base of the cylinder by using the formula of volume of the cylinder.

The volume of the cylinder = πr²h

As we know that the base of the cylinder is a circle and the area of the circle is πr², so we have to find the value of πr².

Then, Volume = πr²h

              1540 =  πr² * 10

         1540/10 = πr²

                 154 = πr²

which is the required area of the base of the cylinder.

Hence, if the volume of a cylinder is 1540 cubic cm and its height is 10 cm, then the area of its base is 154 cm².
