If the water in which tadpoles are growing does not contain much iodine, they die. Why?

they will die as tadpoles for living require iodine which is important for ther metabolic activities

The frogs release a harmone by thyroid gland . This hormone requires the presence of iodine in water for its production. If the water in which tadpoles are growing is not sufficient in iodine , the tadpoles Cannot and cannot become adult frogs.
