Given:

  • Wavelength = 20 cm

  • Speed of wave = 800 m/s

To be calculated:

Calculate the frequency of the wave ?

Formula used:

Speed ( velocity ) of wave = Frequency × Wavelength

Solution:

Wavelength = 20 cm

= 20/100 m

= 0.2 m

We know that,

Speed ( velocity ) of wave = Frequency × Wavelength

★Substituting the values in the above formula,we get

⇒ 800 = Frequency × 0.2

⇒ Frequency = 800/0.2

⇒ Frequency = 8000/2

⇒ Frequency = 4000 Hz

Thus , the frequency of the wave is 4000 Hz.
