If the weight of the homogeneous rod is 20N.The load on the end of the rod to balance it must be 10N. Please explain this

How is it set up? Geometry is very important.

If it is horizontal and supported on the other end (which you didnt say) then do a moment balance about the support. Assume the CG is midway...

**0 = WL/2 - FL**

F = W/2 = 10 N
