if the work done by a body on on application constant force is directly propotional to the distance travelled by the body , express this in the form of an equation in two variables and draw the graph of the same by taking the constant force as 5 units . also read from the graph the work done when the distance travelled by the body is 2 units and 0 unit

Let the distance travelled by body be = x

AND

Let the work done by body be = y

In physics, we generally take that constant force as k.

As, Work done is directly propotional to distance on Application of a constant force. This implies =>

y = kx

This can also be derived by the formula

work \: done \:  = force \times distance \\ y = kx

Constant Force = 5 units

So,

y = 5x

Graph can be plotted by taking at least 3 values of x

Put x = 0

y = 5 \times 0 \\ y = 0

Put x = 1

y = 5 \times 1 \\ y = 5

Put x = -1

y = 5 \times  (- 1) \\ y =  - 5

Plot the points.
