Step-by-step explanation:

2x^2-5x-3=0

2x^2-6x+x-3=0

2x(x-3)+1(x-3)=0

(2x+1)(x-3)=0

2x+1=0,×-3=0

x=-1/2,x=3

The zeroes of x^2+px+q is -1,6

x=-1,(-1)^2+p(-1)+q=0

1-p+q=0

p-q=1......(1)

x=6,6^2+6p+q=0

36+6p+q=0

6p+q=-36.......(2)

from (1)&(2)

p-q=1

6p+q=36

___________

7p=37

p=37/7

q=37/7-1=30/7
