a=7

b=12

Solution

When x =3,

x2-ax+b=0

3*3 -a*3+b=0

9-3a+b=0(eqn. 1)

when x =4,

4*4-a*4+b=0

16-4a+b =0(eqn 2)

on subtracting eqn. 1 from 2

16-4a+b=0

9 -3a+b=0

- +. -

____________

7 -a. = 0

_____________

a= 7

From eqn 1

9 - 3a +b = 0

9-3*7+b =0

9-21+b=0

-12+b=0

b=12

Hope it helps
