If the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x? +(a+1)x + b are 2 and – 3, then
(a) a=-7, b= -1

we know that if p and q are the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial then equation is

x² - (p + q) x + pq

so if 2 and -3 are the zeroes then the quadratic equation should be

x² - (2 + -3) x + 2*-3

I. e x² + 1x - 6

thus a+1 = 1 and b= - 6

implies a = 0 and b = - 6....(d)
