just remember this formula

sum of the roots of quadratic polynomial=constant term/coefficient of x^2

sum=-coefficient of x/ coefficient of x^2

let the first root be x then other will be 1/x

sum,of roots=1/2

x+1/x=1/2

2x^2+2=x

2x^2+2-x=0

x={1+(1-8)^1/2}/2

here,we r seeing that,the discriminant(b^-4ac) is with negative sign

this shows that,no root can be possible,of the polynomial,given,which satisfy the condition of one root reciprocal to another.......
